WASZP unveils the first ever Women’s Sprint Championship! Taking place on 19/20 July 2025 in Weymouth, UK directly before the WASZP Games, the Women’s Sprint Champs represents the first event of its kind.  

Using a range of short course formats, the event offers WASZP women ultra-competitive and exciting sprint racing, watched and supported by the entire WASZP Games community.  The prize? The top two women from the event will earn a spot at the SailGP WASZP Grand Final in Sydney in 2026, where they will battle for a $10,000 prize pot.  

Sprint racing has long been an included format at WASZP major events and has always been raced in a mixed fleet. Given that women make up a smaller proportion of the overall fleet than men, participating women have been thinly spread across the flights resulting in a lack of direct head-to-head competition in the Sprint discipline for female sailors. This event will crown a definitive Women’s Sprint Champion and will showcase the incredible talent and skill in the WASZP women’s division.
