WASZP is excited to announce that three-time SailGP champion Kyle Langford and Seagull Sails will take over the Swedish distribution of the WASZP class. Langford, an America’s Cup winner in 2013 and current sailor with the Italian SailGP team, brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the Swedish market, having been based there for several years.
Joining Langford in this venture are David and Sam Gilmour, both highly accomplished Australian sailors with extensive backgrounds in high-performance sailing and match racing. Under the well-established Seagull Sails banner, they aim to expand and develop the WASZP class in Sweden. Sam, a competitor in the 2019 WASZP International Games, and David bring invaluable expertise and enthusiasm for foiling. With their combined knowledge and passion, the Seagull Sails team is perfectly positioned to drive growth and engagement in the region.

Planning is already underway in collaboration with the Swedish WASZP Association to launch a series of local events designed to generate excitement and build community momentum. This initiative aligns perfectly with the seasonal shift, as Swedish sailors eagerly anticipate the end of winter and the return to the water.
“As a professional sailor, I’ve always been passionate about making high-performance foiling more accessible,” said Langford. “With Seagull Sails now representing WASZP in Sweden, we have a fantastic opportunity to grow the class in this region. Sweden has an incredible sailing culture, and we are excited to help more people experience the fun and competitiveness of the WASZP class. Seagull Sails is committed to delivering top-level service and support, and we can’t wait to see the Swedish WASZP community grow.” Kyle Langford
“It’s fantastic to see elite-level sailors recognizing the importance of the WASZP in making high-performance dinghy foiling more accessible to sailors of all ages. I’m excited to see how you grow the class in Sweden!” Andrew McDougall – Managing Director
With a strong foundation in Sweden’s thriving sailing scene and an experienced team leading the charge, WASZP is set to establish itself as a premier foiling class in the region. The new partnership promises to enhance accessibility, drive participation, and create exciting opportunities for both new and experienced foilers.
