WASZP ALL-STARS FLEET SET FOR €10,000 CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS SHOWDOWN IN CÁDIZ

10 nations. 3 continents. 16 All-Stars.

One male winner. One female winner. €5,000 each. No second place.

The stage is set for the 2026 WASZP All-Stars Invitational, with an outstanding international field confirmed for Foiling Base Cádiz, Spain, from 8–11 October 2026.

Eight male sailors racing the WASZP 8.2 rig and eight female sailors racing the WASZP 7.5, representing 10 nations across three continents, will go head-to-head in WASZP’s invitation-only sprint racing showdown.

The field brings together the current 8.2 and 7.5 World No.1s, European Champions, national champions, a defending All-Stars Champion, Foiling Week winners and the fastest WASZP sailor in history.

And waiting at the finish is €10,000.

€5,000 for the male champion. €5,000 for the female champion. Winner takes all.

A field stacked with talent

Leading the men’s field is Australian Louis Tilly, the defending All-Stars Champion, current 8.2 World No.1, Australian Champion and Asia-Pacific Champion.

He will face a formidable international line-up including Spain’s reigning European and Spanish Champion Antonio Gasperini, Canada’s Ethan Thompson, Italian U19 European Champion Francesco Carrieri, France’s Hippolyte Gruet and Switzerland’s Alexis Pariat.

Britain’s Toby Smith arrives in Cádiz as the 2026 UK National Champion and the fastest WASZP sailor in history after setting a new class speed record of 31.0 knots, while Sweden’s Nils Netterlid completes the eight-man field.

Tilly said:

“Winning the first All-Stars was pretty special, and I’m really looking forward to coming back to defend it in Cádiz. The format is brutal because there are no drops and nowhere to hide. With eight top sailors on the start line, every race and every point matters. The field this year is seriously strong, so it’s going to be a great battle.”

The women’s field is equally stacked.

Spain’s Sol López Navarro, the current 7.5 World No.1, will race on home waters against reigning Women’s European Champion Louise Metenier of France.

Italy’s Olivia Castaldi arrives after winning the 7.5 fleet at Foiling Week and finishing second woman and third overall at the European Championship, while Canada’s Grace Poole, Germany’s Julia Gebhard, Finland’s Stella Nygard, Sweden’s Elsa Aronsson and Britain’s Helena Mills-Bowers complete the international field.

Fast, Fearless, Fun

The All-Stars format is built for pressure.

Short courses. Quick turnarounds. Eight sailors on the track. No drops. Every race counts.

Rather than traditional long-course fleet racing, the invitation-only format puts the world’s leading WASZP sailors into short, high-intensity sprint racing where a single mistake can change the event.

At the end, there are only two winners.

€5,000 to the female champion. €5,000 to the male champion. Winner takes all.

World-class racing in Cádiz

The All-Stars will be hosted at Foiling Base Cádiz, combining outstanding foiling conditions and facilities with the culture, beaches and lifestyle of one of southern Spain’s great coastal cities.

The event forms part of WASZP’s new three-year partnership with Foiling Base Cádiz, which also welcomes the venue as a WASZP European Winter Hub, creating a year-round base for training, racing and the international WASZP community.

For Sol López Navarro, bringing All-Stars to Spain makes the event particularly special.

“To have the All-Stars coming to Cádiz is really exciting, especially for me as a Spanish sailor. Foiling Base Cádiz is a fantastic place to sail and I know how good the conditions can be. To race against this group of sailors at home, with the champion of champions prize and a winner-takes-all format, is going to make it very special.”

The 2026 WASZP All-Stars Invitational takes place at Foiling Base Cádiz, Spain, 8–11 October 2026.

The Cádiz event follows the inaugural WASZP All-Stars Invitational in Pensacola, USA, taking this unique concept to the next stage as part of WASZP’s growing international calendar.

All-Stars builds on the long-standing collaboration between WASZP and SailGP through the Inspire Racing program, which created a global platform to showcase the incredible skills of emerging foiling talent and provide young sailors with a pathway towards the professional ranks.

The All-Stars Invitational takes that concept forward, bringing the world’s leading WASZP sailors together in a high-profile, high-stakes format designed to showcase the next generation of foiling talent.
