Italy’s Olivia Castaldi and Francesco Carrieri come out on top after 13 high-intensity races each over two days.
Winner takes all
The invitation-only WASZP All-Stars format headed to Spanish waters with an elite fleet of 16 sailors, eight men and eight women from across the globe, racing for €10,000 in prize money.
This is the most unique and lucrative prize in dinghy foiling anywhere.
No consolation prizes. Just two champions taking home the cash.
26 races. Two days. Nowhere to hide.
WASZP All-Stars Cádiz delivered an action-packed weekend of high-speed foiling, with a famous Italian double. Francesco Carrieri took the men’s title and Olivia Castaldi the women’s, each claiming €5,000 in prize money.
With eight WASZPs shared between 16 of the class’s top sailors, the All-Stars format brings a new dimension to foiling competition.
Short, intense sprint racing. Rapid boat changeovers. Every position counting in every race, with no drops allowed.
After an opening day of racing in easterly conditions, Sunday’s action was initially delayed by light winds before the famous Cádiz sea breeze kicked in, building from 8 to 13 knots and setting the stage for a thrilling finale.
The race committee made the most of the conditions, completing 26 races across the two divisions, 13 for the men and 13 for the women.
Italians set the pace
With the 2027 WASZP Games heading to Lake Garda next year, the performance of the Italians is an ominous sign for other racers who will need to tackle them at their home championship.

Cádiz turns it on
The Bay of Cádiz provided a challenging setting, delivering contrasting easterly and westerly conditions and a demanding test of the sailors’ speed, tactics and adaptability.
Pablo Guitian, Manager of Foiling Base Cádiz, praised the sailors and the event:
“We hope that both Cádiz Bay and its foiling conditions, as well as the event’s organisational quality, have met the athletes’ expectations. They gave everything they had to fight for the champion of champions title.”

A big future for WASZP x Cádiz
WASZP All-Stars brings together world-class international talent, equal prize money for men and women, and an exciting new approach to foiling competition.
The Cádiz event was delivered through a collaboration between Foiling Base Cádiz and the WASZP class, with the support of Cádiz City Council, the Government of Andalusia, the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz and the Spain SailGP Team.
The official prizegiving was attended by Cádiz City Council’s Councillor for Sports, Carlos Lucero, who congratulated the athletes for their achievements.
The All-Stars was the first act in a long-term collaboration that will also see the WASZP EuroCup Final held later in 2026.
Foiling Base Cádiz will also support WASZP sailors throughout the Northern winter with a full training and racing schedule offered.
